We aim to establish a fully integrated production chain in Egypt and export the entire output to 59 countries worldwide.
In line with the directives of Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade (MIFT Minister), to affiliated entities to create an attractive environment for foreign investment and strengthen the follow-up of various investment projects, Dr. Mohamed Awad, CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI CEO), met with a delegation from the Italian ready-made garments company “Oniverse” to discuss the company’s plans to establish two factories in Egypt.
The meeting discussed ways to implement the two projects in a manner that enhances the company’s production and export capacity in the Egyptian market, while benefiting from available investment incentives and facilitation measures that support the swift execution of projects and the localization of value chains in Egypt. In addition, the discussions covered the advantages of the Golden License and the project’s eligibility to obtain it, as one of the key tools for accelerating implementation and operations through unified and comprehensive approvals for all required licenses for projects of strategic significance.
Dr. Mohamed Awad mentioned that GAFI is working to provide all necessary support to accelerate project implementation, in line with MIFT’s strategy to enhance foreign investment attraction and facilitate the business environment in Egypt.
GAFI CEO added that GAFI is working to address any challenges that investors may encounter and provide technical and procedural support to ensure the swift start of operations in line with the targeted timelines.
Mr. Francesco Rofolo, Production Operations Manager at Oniverse factories in Bosnia and Croatia, stated that the company aims to establish a fully integrated production chain in Egypt, starting from yarn manufacturing through ready-made garments. He added that the entire output will be exported to global markets through the company’s distribution network of around 5500 retail outlets across 59 countries worldwide, noting that production is targeted to begin by the end of 2027, providing more than 3000 direct job opportunities in the Egyptian market.
