Counselor Abd el-Wahab was appointed as acting GAFI CEO since July 2019, and he was GAFI Vice CEO from August 2017, member of the Board of Directors of the Suez Canal Economic Zone, member of Board of Directors of Tourism Development Authority, and member of Board of Directors of Cairo International Airport. He previously was the legal advisor to Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation since 2015. He extensively participated in the Egyptian investment legislative reform process that produced the new Investment Law and its Executive Regulations; the amendments of the Capital Market Law and its Executive Regulations; the amendments of the Companies Law; and the Law on the Regulation of Restructuring, Preventive Composition and Bankruptcy. He also participated in reviewing many international agreements and developing companies' incorporation/amendment system at the Investor Service Centers. In addition, he is the Head of the Secretariat General of the Ministerial Committee for Investment Disputes Resolution. For nine years, Counselor Abd el-Wahab worked as a legal advisor at the International Cooperation at Ministry of Justice. By virtue of Minister of Justice Decree No. 5070 of 2017, Counselor Abd el-Wahab has become a registered arbitrator at the Roster of Arbitrators of Ministry of Justice. He has a Master’s degree in the International Law and a Diploma in Justice Administration from Netherlands. He represented Egypt in the UNCITRAL Committee.
