Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, issued a decree to appoint three Deputies to Mr. Hossam Heiba, GAFI CEO, with the aim of contributing to efforts to improve the investment climate, develop the business environment and improve GAFI's performance.
The decree stipulated that three GAFI CEO Deputies shall be appointed, who are: Dr. Ahmed Shireen Mohamed Abdel Hamid Korayem, as Deputy for Investment promotion Sector, and Mr.Yasser Ahmed Abbas Younis, as Deputy for Investment Service and Free Zones Sectors, and Dr. Dahlia Anwar Ismail El-Hawary, as Deputy for Institutional Development, Research and Economic Performance Sectors.
It is noteworthy that Dr. Ahmed Shireen Mohamed Abdel Hamid Korayem holds a DBA in the management of digital transformation in operations. Furthermore, he occupied many positions, including a Member of the Board of Directors (BoD) of the Building Materials Chamber of the Federation of Egyptian Industries, Chairman of the Cement Industry Division, and Arab Republic of Egypt's representative and BoD member at the Arab Union for cement and building materials.
Whereas Mr. Yasser Ahmed Abbas Younis held the position of Head of the Investor Services Sector at GAFI, he also occupied the position of the Vice Chairman of the Internal Trade Development Authority, the Head of Sinai Unit at GAFI, as well as the General Coordinator of the Trade Modernization Program at the Ministry of Trade and Industry. Moreover, Mr. Yasser Ahmed worked in several international organizations, including the United Nations and the African Union, in addition to obtaining diplomas in business and project management.
Dr. Dahlia Anwar Ismail El-Hawary holds PhD and M Phil in Economics from George Washington University in the USA, and BA and MA in Economics from the American University in Cairo. She previously held many positions, most notably a Consultant at the UN, the League of Arab States, the UN Environment Programme, and the UN Development Program. She also held the positions of an Economic Advisor to the CEO of the Industrial Development Authority at Ministry of Trade and Industry, an Advisor to the Minister of Investment and Head of the Legislative Reform Unit at Ministry of Investment, a Lead Advisor in the Technical Support Project for Policy Reform of the U.S. Agency for International Development, a Consultant at the World Bank Private & Financial Sector Network, Regional Expert in the Financial Sector Affairs at the UN Development Program, Assistant Restructuring Expert at the Technical Office of Ministry of Public Business Sector, and an Economist at the Unit Monitoring World Bank Structural Adjustment Loan affiliated to the Prime Minister's Office.
