In support of the state's approach towards digital transformation and the development of the information infrastructure for investment services, the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) has launched the Digital Platform for Economic Performance Services. This unified platform provides specialized technical services in the following:
• Financial Restructuring
• Valuation
• Feasibility Studies and Investment Cost Measurements
This enables investors and the business community to submit and track applications electronically through a unified digital platform. The Financial Restructuring service will be offered as a first phase through the Digital Platform for Economic Performance Services (
https://ep.gafi.gov.eg), alongside the usual paper-based application process. Applications will be accepted exclusively through the digital platform starting March 2026.
The Central Department of In-kind Shares Valuation and Follow-up
The Central Department of In-kind Shares Valuation and Follow-up provides a wide range of prior financial due diligence services related to corporate financial structure changes. These services include the following
-Verifying such profits, reserves, credit balances payable to partners/shareholders that could be used in increasing the company's capital or completing it;
-Assessing the soundness of the financial structure of the company to allow for capital reduction;
-Assessing the financial structure and verifying the financial position of any company that would like to quit liquidation and re-engage into business;
-Verifying the actual amount paid in the share capital in order to calculate the relative weight of the company when granting residence permit(s) to its foreign investors.
In addition, the Department is responsible for the technical secretariat of the valuation/financial structures verification committees. Moreover, the verification committees always include members from among GAFI Economic Performance Sector staff.
The Economic Performance Sector has two main categories of verification. The first of which is the verification related to the preliminary valuation of the net assets and liabilities used in:
-Changing the legal structure of the company;
-Corporate mergers;
-Corporate split-ups;
-Increasing the capital of a joint stock company (whether existing or under incorporation) by an in-kind share.
