The Prime Minister meets GAFI CEO
Madbouly: three priorities: problem solving, issuance of licenses, and promotion
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, met this evening with Mr. Hossam Haiba, CEO of the General
Authority for Investment and Free Zones.
At the outset of the meeting, the Prime Minister congratulated GAFI's CEO for assuming the position and
responsibility, stressing his full support for GAFI’s work in all files, wishing him success in his mission.
He thanked Counselor Mohamed Abdel-Wahhab, the former CEO, for his efforts as well.
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly assured that there are three important files, which come as investment priority at
this phase: I) solving investors’ problems; II) speeding the issuance of projects’ licenses, and III) promoting
various projects and opportunities.
The Prime Minister noted that the State pays great attention to the file of investment and promotion of
promising opportunities in the Egyptian market, and works to attract foreign investments, facilitate
procedures, and solve problems. With regard to streamline and facilitating licensing procedures, he added
that the State has started working with the Golden License. The Golden License has been issued for eight
projects during the last meeting of the Council of Ministers, which necessitates following up these projects
in order to start operating.
For his part, Mr. Hossam Haiba thanked the Prime Minister for his confidence in appointing him as the
CEO of GAFI. Mr. Haiba assured that he will exert due diligence in various work files, and implement
these tasks successively in coordination with the relevant ministries.
He indicated that he is currently studying GAFI’s various files and tasks, and will soon present a full vision
and plan to the Prime Minister in regard to the various tasks.
